Food Classification Based on How it is Served



Food is very important for our body. It gives many useful nutritional support for us. A healthy food is a food that contains essential energy and good for our health. The food’s nutrition should also be balanced. Eating not just one kind of food in one time is better than just eating one kind of food. Food could be classified into three kinds based on how it is served, they are appetizers, main course and dessert.
 



Appetizers is the first food that served right before the main course food served. It can be called as opening food. The appetizer usually served in a small portions. The function of this food is to fill your stomach, but not make it full. Sometimes, it comes with just about one hundred until one hundred and twenty grams. The examples of appetizers are salad, nachos, garlic bread, cream soup and many more. 





The second food is main course. It can be called as the main food that we eaten. It served after we finish our appetizers. Main course can be more heavy than appetizers since it contains many energy and nutrition. Unlike the appetizers, main course usually served in a big portion that have about three hundred until three hundred and fifty grams. The example of main course is chicken katsu with rice, steak, fish and chips, pasta, and so on.





The last type of food is dessert. This might be called as sweet food because it usually comes in a sweet kind of foods. It can also be a refresher after eating much food and big portions food in main course. Same as the appetizers, dessert served in a small portion. The example of the dessert food is cake, donuts, fruit platter such as watermelon, apple, orange, grapes and many more. Not just food, sometimes dessert is served as a half drink and half food. The example is ice cream, mango mousse with mango juice, and so on. 


In conclusion, foods can be classified into three different types based on how it served. They are appetizer which comes first, then followed by main course which has the biggest portion, then closed by dessert that tastes sweet. They are all have their own function and nutrition that is good for us. They can balanced the nutrition that will come into our body. However, the most important and needed food is main course that have more nutrition for us.
